Messengers of hope...

Missionaries in Ecuador with International Teams and Youth World since 2002, parents of four children, and then some more children, directors of Casa Gabriel and now Casa Adalia, teacher and friend, but most importantly, redeemed by Jesus Christ and living out the ministry of reconciliation as messengers of hope. This is the story that God is writing through us.

Carnival Mission Outreach!!

This week has been a whirlwind of getting to know and doing ministry with some precious new friends who are interested in partnering with what God is doing in Ecuador.  After our goodbyes tonight, and hopefully some great sleep, we head out early tomorrow with the Casa G boys to a very poor Shuar village about an 8 hour drive from Quito.  Our desire is to tangibly express the love of Jesus by bringing a fiesta for the entire village with games, prizes, songs, gifts, etc.

There will likely be some typical Ecuadorian Carnival celebration as well -- squirting of foam and crazy water fights.  I am certain to run the other direction while Phil is smack in the middle!!

But more than bringing a day of fun to a people who have little reason to celebrate, we desire to continue to build relationships and share the hope of the Gospel.  I will be helping to provide a prevention workshop on sex trafficking.  We will also spend a day on the way back just playing together.

Pictured are a couple of past Casa G Carnival celebrations!!
